The STUN Game Festival, the largest gaming industry event in southern Brazil, held its fourth edition in 2023. The festival took place on August 19 and 20 at the Boulevard 14/32 of Floripa Airport, in Florianópolis.
The STUN Game Festival is a showcase of independent games, available to the public. The event featured eSports championships, games from major producers and independent studios, launches, shows, workshops for children, artist fair, cosplay contest, and much more.
One of the highlights of the event was the Game Awards, awarding the winners of the championships and contests of the program. In total, R$ 10,000 in prizes were distributed for the eSports tournaments, Cosplay, K-Pop Battle, and Game Jam.
Another invited attraction was the participation of professional Free Fire players, an action-adventure electronic game created by the Vietnamese developer 111dots Studio and published by Garena. The festival also featured a show by the band The Kira Justice, a group famous in the geek circuit for interpreting anime songs.
Games from Large and Small Producers The event featured an Indie Games area, in addition to presenting a showcase of games created by independent game development studios from Santa Catarina, such as Cafundó Estudio, DCF Studios, PlusPlus, and GG Studios. In the AAA Games area, games developed by major game producers and released by global publishers were presented, including Xbox and Playstation.
Stun also offered an exclusive space for board game enthusiasts in the Board Games area. In addition, the Artist’s Alley featured 10 artists who exhibited works and projects related to the universe of games and pop culture.
The STUN Game Festival is more than just a gaming event. It’s a celebration of gamer culture, a space for the community to come together, share experiences, and have fun. With a diverse schedule and attractions for all tastes, the festival establishes itself as a landmark in the event calendar of Florianópolis and southern Brazil.
